Giving Back
Giving back means glorifying God for our many gifts and blessings.
- God has blessed us with creation; we are responsible for giving our time and attention to caring for our world.
- God has blessed us with resources; we are responsible for giving from those gifts to fund God’s work in the world.
Creation Care
Our St. James roots are deep in the soil of Louisa County. Several of our members live on farms that have been in the family for generations. We understand the value of our earth, air, and water and the importance of taking care of them.

Funding God's Work
We give back from the bounty of God’s blessing to support God’s work in our community and our world. Learn more about annual giving, special offerings, and planned giving below.
Annual Giving
God has great things in store for us! Prayerfully consider how your giving can help sustain and grow our good work at St James. May we see our resources as God given and may we share them so that God’s work can take place in our church and in our community.
Consider designating a proportion of your resources for God’s use. The biblical standard is the tithe, or 10%, but many people start at a lower proportion and then increase the proportion as they are able.

Special Offerings
We have opportunities for you to make special offerings in love and gratitude for God’s gifts.
Easter and Christmas Offerings: We designate the loose plate offering on Easter and Christmas to specific charitable needs in our community. We also offer special envelopes for those who want to make an extra offering to glorify God.
The Rector’s Discretionary Fund: This is a fund of the church that our priest can use to discreetly meet needs they identify and are called to address.
Other special gifts: Please contact the church office if you’d like to learn more about options for making a special gift to St. James.

Planned Giving
Planned giving is creative giving. It helps us make gifts we did not think we could make with assets we had not thought of using. It includes current gifts of stock, real estate, or other assets and deferred gifts such as through a will or trust. With such gifts, you can impact more lives for Jesus. Please contact the church office for more information.
