Faith Formation
Building our faith in Jesus Christ is a life long endeavor, and fostering a strong relationship with God requires study, prayer, and play. Children, teens, and adults at St. James have opportunities to engage their faith on different levels. We offer Sunday School for children, youth group for teens, weekly forums and seasonal book studies for adults, and service opportunities for all.

Children's Ministry
"People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these . . . And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them." Mark 10:13-16

Nursery is available at the 10:00 a.m. service to all children from 0 to 3 years of age. We love having children in the service; however, the nursery is an option. We know kids will be kids, and we welcome them to learn how to pray alongside all of us!
Sunday school for children ages 4 to 10 years begins at 9:45 a.m. and takes place during the 10 a.m. service. After a lesson, the children come back into church to hear the Children's sermon and take communion. St. James also offers scholarships to summer camps at Shrine Mont. If interested, please contact the church office. |
Youth Ministry
"Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment" Ecclesiastes 11:9

The Christketeers, our youth group at St. James geared towards middle and high schoolers, meets in order to serve or have fellowship together throughout the year. Activities range from picking vegetables at Shalom farms, a nonprofit that provides wholesome foods to low income, inner city neighborhoods, to hiking Crabtree falls, or rafting the New River.
We also broaden our friendships by partnering with other Youth programs in Louisa so we may grow together in Christ. St. James also offers scholarships to summer camps at Shrine Mont. If interested, please contact the church office. |
